Fresh snow was reported at almost all of the Swiss resorts on Wednesday and Thursday this week. This was just a dusting at a number but many resorts received 10-15cm of new snow through Wednesday night which provided lovely fresh snow to ski through on Thursday.

Predominantly sunny weather is forecast before the weekend across Switzerland and then heavy clouds should move in on Sunday, delivering even more snow although this is not expected to total more than around 20cm of new snow at any of our featured Swiss resorts.
USA

All of our featured American resorts have reported fresh snow this week.

The greatest snowfalls have been reported in California at Squaw Valley (152/203cm) and Mammoth (225/330cm). Squaw Valley reported 41cm of new snow on Tuesday 18th while Mammoth reported 36cm of new snow a day later on Wednesday.
The snowfall in the east of the country was not as heavy although he dusting of fresh snow that fell this week has helped to improve the riding condition at the resorts in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Further snowfall is expected across the country over the coming days. Again the greatest amount of fresh snow is expected at the western resorts but even in the east at least 5cm of new snow should land.
CANADA
CANADA
There has been continuous snowfall across Canada this week and on Thursday at many resorts the weather began to clear and sunny spells emerged.
The area of Banff/Lake Louise and Sunshine (100/135cm) and Jasper (127cm) in Alberta have both had a good week for snow. There have been light dustings of new snow and Jasper is reporting a light covering of fresh snow on both the upper and lower trails. More snow is forecast for both resorts on Saturday 23rd January and Sunday 24th January at both areas which will top up the conditions.
On the east coast of Canada snow has also fallen. At Mont Sainte-Anne (80cm) it is best to stick to the groomed trails. Recent low temperatures have protected the snow pack on the trails but more snow is needed before improvements can be seen in the back country.
