Five, luxury, ski hotels without the price tag

The Hotel Carlton, St. Moritz

If you are one of the fortunate few that can ski in low season, here are some great value options in five, first-class hotels.

The Hotel Saint Roch, Courchevel 1850
Many think that Courchevel 1850 is so expensive only Russian oligarchs can afford to stay there. In truth they tend only to ski the first two weeks of January when a double room at the Saint Roch can be well over a thousand euros. Stay there in low season and the same room can be as low as 350€ per night, including half board.

The Hotel Alpaga, Megeve
April is a great time to ski. The weather is milder and the pistes are empty. A double room for just 290€, per night, including breakfast should tempt you too.

The Hotel Nevai, Verbier
The most expensive room in the Nevai is 1,900CHF per night in high season. If you can spare the outdoor private jacuzzi, fireplace, living room and bar, the hotel has very stylish, standard, double rooms for as low as 355CHF per room, per night, including breakfast.

The Hotel Carlton, St. Moritz
The Carlton was recently renovated to become a suite only hotel, all of which flaunt superb views of the lake of St. Moritz. If you fancy an early season trip, a 45m² junior suite costs just 950CHF per room, per night, including half board.

The Hotel Vereina, Klosters
Last season we, at the Oxford Ski Company, found prices in Swiss resorts to be better value than the Eurozone at times. The trend looks set to follow course on this coming season when looking at the Hotel Vereina’s prices. A double room at this four star superior hotel can be as low as 440CHF per room, per night, including breakfast, in low season.
