Five of the best hotels for a ski weekend

Les Granges d’en Haut, Chamonix les Houches

Only have a few days to spare and want to make the most of your time on the slopes? Here are five of the best hotels to make the most of your precious ski break.

The St. Antonerhof, St. Anton
The Raffl’s St. Antonerhof will pre-order and deliver your lift pass so you don’t waste time dashing to the lift office. It also has two, in-resort vehicles to shuttle guests to and from the lifts where you can store your ski kit for free; no waiting around for the bus. The cherry on the Sachertorte? St. Anton is a mere hour and a half from Innsbruck.

Les Granges d’en Haut, Chamonix les Houches
This hotel is made up of a collection of beautiful chalets; each has four double rooms. Why not take one for the perfect, girl’s weekend away. And Chamonix is just over an hour away from Geneva so you can get to the spa quicker!

The Kristiania, Lech
Lech is around an hour and a half from Innsbruck and has a compact resort centre where you can find the major lift stations. The Kristiania does some excellent short break offers for bachelor parties, girly groups and couples. More accomplished skiers can ski into the back of the hotel from Zurs; a handy time saver at the end of the day.

The Hotel Alpaga, Megeve
Megeve is the darling of the French and skiing isn’t necessarily its clientele’s primary motive for holidaying here. Unwinding by a spa, shopping and enjoying the Alpine sun on pretty terraces are as popular as Alpine sports. So chances are that a ski break here will mean you have the slopes to yourself without a lift queue in sight. The Hotel Alpaga is an hour and quarter from Geneva and it will run you to the slopes so you can make the most of the sunny slopes of this beautiful ski area.

The Hotel Nevai, Verbier
Cut your transfer time to just 45 minutes by flying Snowjet from Stanstead to Sion. Cut your costs by staying at the Hotel Nevai which is as low as 355CHF per double room, per night, including breakfast, for a mid-week break. Cut some shapes at the in-house night club, the Farm Club.
