Aspen Mountain to open for summer skiing

The Little Nell, Aspen

Due to the considerable amount of snowfall Aspen Mountain received this season, Aspen Skiing Company has announced they will be opening the mountain for weekend skiing throughout the summer season when conditions permit.

The mountain was due to close this weekend but the locals are hopeful that the Silver Queen Gondola will continue to run given that cool temperatures and good spring snowfall have preserved the 71 inch base layer of snow at the top of Aspen Mountain.

Lodge Montagnard awarded fifth star

The Granges d’en Haut, Chamonix

Both properties of the Lodge Montagnard, Les Granges d’en Haut and the Alpaga, have recently been awarded a five star rating.

The Granges d’en Haut is a beautiful collection of chalets situated in the family friendly resort of Les Houches. Their chalets range in size from two bedroom to four bedroom. All guests can enjoy access to the hotel’s spa and restaurant facilities as well as its shuttle service to the slopes of Les Houches.

Oxford Ski Team fundraising for the Disability Snowsport UK Skiathon

A team of us here at The Oxford Ski Company are taking part in Disability Snowsport UK’s National Skiathon! The challenge is to ski 666 runs in 6 hours at Sno!zone indoor ski slope in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.
