Reduced transfer times for Val d’Isere chalets

We are pleased to announce that we can now offer packaged flights from London Gatwick to Chambery on the following chalets for departures 9 Jan – 6 Feb 201, reducing the transfer time by approximately 1 hour:

Madrisah (pictured), Klosters, Davos, Arosa, Bellevarde Lodges, Aspen Lodges and the Farmhouse.

Meribel Ski area updated for the 2010/11 season.

Beginner skiers and snowboarders will be able to take advantage of improvements being made to the Altiport area (Meribel’s designated area for beginner skiers/boarders) which include a new ‘cool moon’ quiet piste and a wooded nature trail piste for children learning to ski. The Doron Zen area above Mottaret is also being made gentler to make it easier and more fun for beginners.

Other changes include an overhaul of the Plattieres Snowpark to make it more accessible to skiers and boarders of all levels and upgrades to the blue (beginner’s) freestyle course at the Moonpark which is being enlarged and new obstacles added.

More experienced skiers will benefit from the improvement to the Cote Brune chairlift which will have an increased capacity of 15% next season making it quicker to get to the higher altitude slopes in the Meribel Valley as well as over to the pistes in Val Thorens. New snow fences (which accumulate the snow) will improve the snow conditions on the Campagnol and Venturon pistes whilst the middle section of the Lac de Chambre piste (coming back from Val Thorens) is also being enhanced.

Improvements will be noticeable in neighbouring Courchevel and include the installation of new snow cannons ensuring that guests can enjoy the tree-lined runs down to La Tania all season long, as well as upgrades to the Family Park and redevelopment of the Women’s World Cup course ready for the race on 21 December.

The best freeriders on the planet will have two extra opportunities to prove themselves next season, as the Freeride World Tour is expanding from four dates to six.

For the male riders, the first stop on the Tour will be Chamonix on 22nd January. St Moritz is a new addition, on 29th January. The Freeride World Tour finals take place at the Nissan Xtreme Verbier by Swatch on 19th March.

New BA app offers mobile boarding passes

Available on iTunes from 19 July, the free BA2go app aims to make getting your flight information even easier

The BA2go app for the iPhone is free to download from iTunes.

Currently available for the iPhone, the free “BA2go” app from British Airways offers mobile boarding passes which can be scanned at check-in to passengers who are members of the BA Executive Club – a service which is free to join online.

The app is also free to download for passengers who are not members of the Executive Club who can access improved flight information, travel news, FAQs, a Twitter news feed and the ba.com mobile website all direct from their iPhone.

“Mobility and convenience is key for our customers” commented BA Head of Digital Marketing Chris Davies. “The Mobile Boarding Pass feature for Executive Club iPhone users will be especially welcome for those customers unable to print off their own boarding cards when returning from overseas”.

The mobile boarding pass functionality is being rolled out on both UK and international flights. A version of the app for Google Android and Blackberry devices will also be available in July 2010.
