London 2012 venue in Snow Centre proposal

Acer Snowmec, the company behind projects such as The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead and Ski Dubai, has outlined plans for turning the Broadcast Centre for the London 2012 Olympic Games into a centre for snowsports.#

Located in the north-west corner of the Olympic Park in Hackney Wick, the Broadcast Centre together with the Press Centre will play host to 20,000 journalists and broadcasters during the 17-day Games next summer in more than 90,000 m² of office and commercial space.

Acer Snowmec’s plans would see the media complex, designed to be as flexible as possible for use beyond the Games, transformed in to a 28,500m² snow centre with areas for Alpine and Nordic Skiing, Snowboarding, Skating and Bobsleigh.
