Chalet des Drus – The best chalet in Chamonix??

On a recent trip to Chamonix I was fortunate enough to see this spectacular chalet, situated in the exclusive Les Bois area of this fantastic alpine resort.

When pulling into the driveway one may be forgiven for thinking that you were looking at three chalets and not just the one, and as you enter the chalet you come into a large entrance hall where you have a choice of three options.

1)      Head left and you have three double rooms, all ensuite with access to the vast garden. Continue along the corridor and you will find the garage, above which is a large roof conversion which houses a cinema room with a children’s play area. There is also a childrens bunk bed room.

2)      Head to the right and you will find the indoor swimming pool, steam room and the first of the master suites which comes complete with its own fire place and mezzanine level with a double bed.

3)      Head up the glass staircase to the large open plan living/dining room. Here you will find a large slate dining table supported by legs which are designed as miniature replicas of the legs of the Eiffel Tower.  There is also a feature fireplace which descends from the ceiling to divide the living and dining areas of this large living space.  The living area consists of vast comfy sofas which allow fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Just off from the open plan living/dining area is the kitchen which comes equipped with all the state of the art facilities that one would expect in a top end chalet.

The final bedroom, another master suite, is also on this level. One feature which cannot escape a mention is the ensuite which possesses a cowhide finish on both the bath and sinks. This chalet has been beautifully designed and decorated. It is fitting to say that Chalet des Drus sits securely in the top level of chalets available to rent in the Chamonix valley.  The chalet is available from €15,000 to €35,000 per week on a self catered basis.  If catering and driver services are required then it is possible to have a tailor made package quoted on request.

Focus On Verbier

This charming well known Swiss resort is simply one of the best ski resorts in Europe and well worth visit. It is a lively resort with plenty going on throughout the season so is perfect for skiers and non skiers alike.

As part of the Four Valleys area, Verbier has large amount of skiing for all levels, but is particularly good for those who are of an intermediate level and above. Experts will enjoy the challenges that Mont Fort and Tortin have to offer, intermediates have plenty of runs to chose from especially over at Savoleyres and beginners have a dedicated slope just up the hill from the centre of town. For those who wish to explore further, we can arrange a guide for you who will be able to take you to the vast amount of fantastic off piste that there is.

For non skiers, the lift network is great for getting up the mountain for sight seeing and meeting up with family and friends for lunch. Other activities include parapenting, airboarding, spa treatments, swimming and much more.

The town has maintained its traditional alpine feel as the buildings are all chalet style, so you won’t find any high rise, ugly tower blocks that you find in some purpose built resorts. The town centre is based around Place Central and from here there are a wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs. During peak weeks, restaurants and clubs get booked up well in advance so it is well worth asking our opinion so that we can make reservations for you.

There are plenty of luxury chalets and apartments in Verbier, so whether you want an apartment in the centre of town or a traditional chalet, we will find the right accommodation for you. With many of the larger chalets being based slightly further out from the centre, many of the chalets come with a driving service. This is excellent for getting to and from the lifts and the town, and with some running until the small hours it doesn’t mean you have to cut your night out short.
