Yet more snow is forecast for Verbier this weekend and unfortunately it will make it impossible for the event to take place.  The effort, energy and time that goes into constructing a Slopestyle course is immense and there will not be enough time to re-construct the course after the new snowfall on Saturday or Sunday.

Conditions and visibility need to be perfect for an event like this to ensure safety and for the athletes to be able to show off their true ability.  45 competitors have been informed of the decision, but they are hoping to hold the event later on in the season.  Meanwhile there is plenty of fresh powder for them to enjoy!

Director Rupert Longsdon is currently in Crans-Montana, Switzerland claiming he is ‘busy’ entertaining journalists whilst skiing thigh deep powder. For those of you who don’t know much about Crans-Montana, it’s a resort that deserves a second look. It’s home to some incredible hotels, private chalets, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and the chosen Alpine home of Sir Roger Moore.

New to the resort this season is the incredible Chalet Seven which opens its doors in a matter of days. Our two favourite hotels are the Guarda Golf which offers a small hotel feel, is centrally located and has the most attentive personal service we have ever experienced in the Alps. Then there is the Hotel Le Crans, perched on the edge of the mountain with incredible views over the resort and down to the Valley of Sierre. Spring 2012 will see the much anticipated re-opening of the Crans Ambassador which is set to be ‘the place to stay’ next season.
