Yet more snow is forecast for Verbier this weekend and unfortunately it will make it impossible for the event to take place.  The effort, energy and time that goes into constructing a Slopestyle course is immense and there will not be enough time to re-construct the course after the new snowfall on Saturday or Sunday.

Conditions and visibility need to be perfect for an event like this to ensure safety and for the athletes to be able to show off their true ability.  45 competitors have been informed of the decision, but they are hoping to hold the event later on in the season.  Meanwhile there is plenty of fresh powder for them to enjoy!

No.14 is one of the largest and most luxurious chalets available to rent in the highly acclaimed and prestigious ski resort of Verbier, Switzerland. Sleeping up to 26 people in thirteen elegant bedrooms, No.14 can be taken on an exclusive use basis, but is also available for individual room bookings during most weeks of the season. Unlike many of Verbier’s hotels and chalets, No.14 is also available for weekend stays as well as offering highly discounted reverse weekends (Sunday to Thursday).

Sue and daughter Harriet in Val d'Isere

Sue Lawley wrote about her stay at the beautiful spa hotel, Les Barmes de l’Ours in Val d’Isere this weekend in the Mail on Sunday.  We were delighted to help organise the trip!

Les Barmes is one of our favourite hotels and is certainly a fantastic place to stay when you’re rediscovering the joys of skiing. If, like Sue, you unexpectedly find yourself hurtling down a red run when you’d rather be on a green, you can ease off the afternoon’s stresses with some heavenly treatments at the hotel’s fantastic spa. After all, there is more to do in the mountains than just ski!

Les Barmes de l’Ours also houses the Michelin starred Table de l’Ours – one of the best restaurants in Val d’Isere and not to be missed! Sue and her daughter Harriet enjoyed foie gras in a pear and wild celery sauce, Lake Geneva char with bouilla-baisse and polenta and slow roasted pork with honey and lemon. Delicious!

The spa at Hotel Les Barmes de l'Ours
