A selection of cows, similar in size and weight, are put together in the ‘arena’ and set free, with their owners standing lovingly at the edge. Slowly but surely the cows begin fighting, under the watchful eye of the judges and controlled by a few brave men who ensure the fights are kept clean! If one of the cows turns away, she is out and her opponent essentially moves on to the next level. This continues until the last two are standing and they battle it out until one of them can take no more.

The Alps never ceases to offer something truly unique. Some say life is about ticking boxes, completing that list of things to do before it is too late. A “heli-picnic” on the Galcier de Trient (opposite Verbier) is something to add to that list. A stunning ten minute helicopter ride for eight lucky guests of Nicky ffrench Blake from Kando Verbier deposited us at 3,700m right on the dramatic edge of the glacier. With a panoramic of the French, Swiss and the Italian Alps this experience would have been enough in itself. However we were greeted by Nicky and her team offering Laurent Perrier Rosé champagne, fine canapés and sushi. We then sat down to a perfect dining table cut out in the snow with sheepskin benches. The chef then served a Seafood extravaganza; lobster, langoustine, oysters, king prawns in fact every seafood you could ever want. Accompanied by a crisp Chassagne-Montrachet. Heaven. It was surreal and simply brilliant. If all eight of us could not already feel more content then the perfect crème brulee at the end pushed us to the limit.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, travel specialist with a passion for skiing to join our chalet sales team as a Private Travel Consultant. You must be a hardworking and flexible with an entrepreneurial attitude towards your work.  As a sales consultant you are acting as your client’s travel PA and will look after them from the moment they make their initial holiday enquiry, short listing properties for them, taking them through the booking procedure, liaising with our travel partners in resort and making any necessary concierge arrangements.  You will also follow up their stay once they return. You must have the ability to build strong relationships with your clients and impeccable communication skills with a willingness to go that extra mile. You must be very well organised, be good at multi tasking and prioritising and have good attention to detail (particularly with administration).

We are looking for candidates educated to degree level or similar with ski related experience in Europe and/or North America, ideally with a high-end tour operator or equivalent. Previous sales experience within the travel sector is also very desirable as is the ability to speak a second language (especially French or Russian). This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for skiing and the travel industry who is looking to work within an expanding, dynamic company with an established, respected reputation.

LOCATION

SALARY & BENEFITS
On request. Both position will involve two to three weeks of business related travel each year as well as a competitive salary, sales targeted bonuses and incentives.

Disability Snowsport promotes equality in ski resorts and provides opportunities for people with disabilities the chance to take part in snowsports – helping to improve their enjoyment and standard of performance at a level of their choice. We’ve raised money for them before by competing in a skiathon and will be doing this again in a few months time! We also wanted to raise money for The Rifles Care for Casualties Appeal because two of our partners are currently serving with the Rifles in Afghanistan.  Care for Casualties helps severely wounded soldiers and their families rebuild their lives after being injured on operational tours.

Over 250 runners turned up to compete in the road race and we were slightly nervous when we saw how professional they all looked! It was a beautiful sunny day though and everything went well. We all completed the race in under an hour.

So far, we’ve raised £760 but there is still time to donate, so if you have any spare pennies to give to either of these amazing charities, we’d be really grateful for your help -
