Too much snow in Verbier for Slopestyle event

Ride Freesport have taken the decision to reschedule this weekends Verbier Ride 12 Slopestyle Event to later in the season.

Yet more snow is forecast for Verbier this weekend and unfortunately it will make it impossible for the event to take place.  The effort, energy and time that goes into constructing a Slopestyle course is immense and there will not be enough time to re-construct the course after the new snowfall on Saturday or Sunday.

Conditions and visibility need to be perfect for an event like this to ensure safety and for the athletes to be able to show off their true ability.  45 competitors have been informed of the decision, but they are hoping to hold the event later on in the season.  Meanwhile there is plenty of fresh powder for them to enjoy!

Last minute availability in Verbier!

No.14 is one of the largest and most luxurious chalets available to rent in the highly acclaimed and prestigious ski resort of Verbier, Switzerland. Sleeping up to 26 people in thirteen elegant bedrooms, No.14 can be taken on an exclusive use basis, but is also available for individual room bookings during most weeks of the season. Unlike many of Verbier’s hotels and chalets, No.14 is also available for weekend stays as well as offering highly discounted reverse weekends (Sunday to Thursday).

No. 14 has some fantastic last minute availability in January and February 2012 including one room from the 22nd of January for £1,400 per person, three rooms for a short break from the 26th of January at £900 per person and one room available from the 5th until the 9th of February for £840 per person.
