Bristol flights now offered on some Oxford Ski properties

The Oxford Ski Company is now pleased to be able to offer flights out of Bristol for a selection of our luxury ski holidays next season, including the three below.

The Farmhouse is considered one of the smartest renovations yet completed in Val d’Isère. From Tatler to the Telegraph, journalists have been unanimous in their praise for this chalet, with the result that it is now one of the most sought after properties in the Alps. You might appreciate why when you consider that the architect’s canvas was a two hundred year old farmhouse with metre thick walls next to the church in the centre of Val d’Isère.

Bellevarde Lodge in Val d’Isère is an imposing collection of six stone and timber chalets situated right on the Santons piste and just a few hundred metres from the Solaise cable car. The Lodges have proved extremely popular with both our regular guests and the national press, described as ′comfortably chic…the best located new chalets in resort this season′ by the Evening Standard.

Named after some of our favourite wines (plus a Brandy) – Muscat, Merlot, Margaux, Cognac, Savoie and Chablis – each chalet is identical in layout and varies only in orientation and colour scheme.

Chalet Davos is part of Chalets Suisses, a small private hamlet designed and built by ourselves on the secluded sun-drenched knoll of Le Crêt, one of the earliest and most charismatic enclaves of Val d’Isère.

Our four stone and slate chalets seek to fuse the ambiance of an old stone village and traditional Alpine decor with contemporary cutting edge design and absolute comfort. To the smooth stone fireplaces, weathered oak floors and seasoned timbers, we have added a veneer of cool contemporary styling including designer bathrooms, discrete state-of-the-art lighting, wireless internet access and DVD plasma screens with cinema surround sound.

For more information on these, or any other chalets that Bristol flights can now be offered on, contact us now at The Oxford Ski Company website, or call on +44 (0) 1865 398130.

Focus on Val D’Isere

The king of classic, French, alpine resorts, Val d’Isere remains a firm favourite with both the British and French. Situated in the heart of the Espace Killy, Val d’Isère is the perfect place to explore the 300km of marked runs and the almost limitless off piste that the region offers. As the host of last season’s World Alpine championships it is not hard to see why Val d’Isère has a reputation as the place to go to prove one’s courage and ability.  However there is also plenty of skiing suitable for those less courageous among us with the Solaise side of the valley hosting a great area for those who like to cruise the blues and have a long lunch in the sunshine. With over 300km of marked runs, and unlimited off-piste skiing, Val d’Isère and its neighbouring resort of Tignes, makes it an ideal location for skiers and boarders of all abilities to find something which satisfies all. It also has a fantastic range of Luxury Chalets and Hotels to retreat to for some well deserved relaxation after a day on the mountains.

Open for its first full season the Avenue lodge Hotel on the main street of Val d’Isère is offering great value considering its enviable location, chic decor and excellent levels of service. Double bedrooms are available from €330- €450, per night, including breakfast.

Another key player in Val D’Isere, VIP are offering a new improved service know as its platinum collection, reflecting the burgeoning demand for high quality cuisine and service in the privacy of a chalet environment. Guests staying in Juniper, Mulberry or Birch Suites, on the top floor of the Aspen Lodge can experience a completely tailored holiday experience. They will work with their personal holiday advisor to create the holiday that they want, picking from a range of extras to include valet parking, airport lounge access and private transfer to resorts. Their personal chef will work with them prior to departure to design a bespoke dining experience. Tailored meals will be accompanied by fabulous wines, chosen by the award winning Master Sommelier.

From après ski until the end of the night, you will never get bored in Val d’Isère. Val d’Isere is renowned for its lively après ski scene and with around twenty different bars, there’s bound to be something to suit your tastes. There are over 60 restaurants where dishes range from the usual savoyard specialities, to fine haute cuisine. If you enjoy shopping then Val d’Isère has everything from haute couture and technical clothing to art galleries, and the village has much to entertain with an indoor swimming pool, English cinema, skidoo-ing, fitness centre, paparpenting, ice-climbing, ice rink, husky rides, ice-dving and snow-shoeing.
